How Does Juvederm XC Ultra Plus Work?
Juvederm XC Ultra Plus injectable smooths moderate to severe facial wrinkles. It also temporarily adds volume and may give the appearance of a smoother surface. The gel contains colorless hyaluronic acid and a small quantity of local anesthetic which is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occuring sugar found in the human body which delivers nutrients, hydrates the skin by holding in water and acts as a cushioning agent. The local anesthetic, lidocaine, reduces the pain associated with these injections.
