Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) is now being used to help men and woman who are experiencing hair loss. PRP is a non-surgical and completely natural approach that uses the patient’s own blood platelets to stimulate hair regrowth. The procedure is done in-office. First, the patient’s blood is drawn and then processed in a centrifuge to extract all of red blood cells, leaving only the platelet-rich serum. The platelet-rich solution is then injected into the patient’s scalp. Because the serum is rich in many different growth factors, it stimulates the hair follicles to grow.
