What is Veinwave?
Veinwave is an innovative treatment for the elimination of smaller spider veins and networks of tiny veins known as telangiectasia. The procedure uses thermocoagulation therapy to heat affected veins, causing them to seal shut and immediately disappear from view. Using high frequency microwaves, an ultra-fine insulated needle heats the vessels in the skin, which creates a thermal lesion that destroys the vein. This allows accurate application of the treatment, whilst protecting the skin and surrounding tissue.
In general, spider veins respond to treatment in 4 to 12 weeks, and larger veins respond in 3 to 4 months. If the veins respond to the treatment, usually they will not reappear. However, new veins may appear over time.
